Dismantling Crane Will Close Brentford High Street
Clive Cummings, our local beat police officer, handed the following draft press release to Brentford-Dock.net:

Closure of Brentford High Street, Sunday 14 December 2003
A large tower crane needs to be removed from the Brentford Lock development site, High Street, Brentford, in order to complete works to the roof of the new building.
The tower crane will be progressively dismantled, but requires the positioning of another large crane to remove the dismantled sections from the site. The only place to locate the other crane is on High Street, Brentford, fronting the development, and it will effectively take up all available carriageway space.
The works are due to be carried out on Sunday 14 December. Set-up will commence at 6am, with the works lasting between six and ten hours (depending on weather).
It will therefore be necessary to close the High Street (between Half Acre and Commerce Road ) for the duration of the works with through traffic being diverted along Half Acre, Boston Manor Road, Great West Road, Spur Road, Syon Lane and London Road in both directions. Local access to shops and other amenities will be retained as far as practicable.
Advance warning signs will be going up in the course of the next few days.
For further information on the road closure, please contact Derek Nash in Hounslow Council's Traffic section on T: 020 8583 4858.
