Filming of The Bill

Film crews will be filming episodes of The Bill in Dock Road, the boat yard, the bridge over the weir and Town Wharf (just north of Johnson’s Island) at the following times:

Monday 23rd October: 6.00 pm - 3.15 am approx.
Tuesday 24th October: 6.00 pm - 3.15 am approx.
Wednesday 25th October: 6.00 pm - 1.45 am approx.
Thursday 26th October: 6.00 pm - 3.15 am approx.
Friday 25th October: 6.00 pm - 3.15 am approx.

Sunday 27th October:

6.00 pm - 8.00 pm approx.

Most of the film crews’ vehicles will be parked in Town Wharf. All mock gun-shots and police tannoys will take place before 8:00 pm. Most of the action is within the boat yard and internal rooms. None of the filming lights will be directed at residents' premises.

There will be some filming on Dock Road. Location assistants (wearing high visibility jackets) will ask pedestrians to stop for the duration of a shot, which should be for no more than two minutes. A police officer will be present during filming.

The general theme of the filming is that undercover police officers are taken prisoners by a drug-dealing gang. In an attempt to escape, one character is shot dead, wrapped up in tarpaulin and slipped into the water by the weir (this, of course, will be a dummy). CO19 armed police arrive and cordon-off the area. Shots are fired and another character is killed.

For further information contact David Downing. Location Manager, Talkback Thames Television on 07974 117407.
