What's New About The Waterside Café-Bar?
The only entrance to the café is via a new glass-panelled door on the patio (warehouse roof). There is a ramp in the door to allow wheelchair access.
The paving stones on the patio have been cleaned. There are silver chairs and tables with red umbrellas on the patio. The previous patio bench and table sets have been painted pink. There are silver lanterns on the tables after dark.
Inside, the ceilings, walls and all vertical surfaces are brilliant white, lit by uplighters and hanging lamps The original parquet flooring has been restored.
The café is divided into four areas. The first is from the door to the start of the raised area. It has armchairs, sofas and tables. There is a smoke extactor behind a full length white curtain. This is the only smoking area.
The second includes the raised area and the bar. The raised area has a polished wooden floor, white railings and a terracotta-coloured handrail. There are new tables and chairs in silver metal and light-coloured wood. There are no seats at the bar.
The third area is from the raised area to the kitchen serving hatch. This has a sofa and easy chairs.
The fourth area is a room at the top of the stairs containing a pool table and a television.
The toilets are downstairs.
